NCRI Summit - A Reflection of a Viable Alternative to The Iranian Regime

Leading voices of democracy in Iran, recently spoke at a three-day online conference with participants from more than 100 countries. The National Councilof Resistance of Iran (NCRI) World Summit for a Free Iran, was held with the participation of NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi, as well as a wide range of parliamentarians and political experts. All od the participants have expressed their support for the NCRI as the viable alternative to the theocratic system in place.

The rally summoned support for regime change in Iran from more than 30,000 individual sites in over 100 countries.

The summit also included recorded speeches by several activists, living in Iran, advancing the work of the MEK Iran "resistance units", which aim to lead to the overthrow of the Iranian regime.
The fact that this year's summit took place, despite the difficulties created by the pandemic, is testament to the capacity of the organizers of an unprecedented event that no one, even governments, has attempted to do. This unprecedented event once again demonstrated the capabilities of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) and the MEK Iran as alternatives to the Iranian regime.

“This is a historic event. I think we will have it in the Guinness Book of World Records, I don’t believe there has ever been such a global Zoom meeting. So, that’s really impressive. And let me tell you that an event like this does not happen without the hard work of an organization like the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which has once again proven its determination, competence and persistence in doing things that others never did. And this happens because of the NCRI's commitment to democratic principleand goals,” Former US Senator Joseph Lieberman said.
“It’s a true tribute to the organizational skills of the NCRI that we can come together in the midst of a global pandemic. This event brings together old friends and new friends in favor of the freedom of the Iranian people, ”Linda Chavez, former director of public relations at the White House, said in her speech.

Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York said: “They know that this organization is a total threat to them, and when they see today this gathering of so many people who use Zoom and the new modern methods of communication and our ability to broadcast throughout Iran, despite their best efforts to block us, they realize they have a formidable enemy. They realize how this group could easily put together a transitional government that could be a bridge to a prosperous, democratic and free Iran, because the Iranian people deserve it. And the Iranian people can support that."

The summit had replaced an international gathering organized annually by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) (see their journal articles). Work was naturally impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, but organizers and attendees were clearly convinced that this years’ version of the event was as important as it has been in previous years.
